Swami
Kriyananda is one of the few living direct disciples
of Paramhansa Yogananda. Kriyananda moved to India
in December 2003 to help spread the practical, relevant
expression of sanatan dharma that Paramhansa
Yogananda brought to America in the 1920s. This
teaching is particularly relevant to India today,
for Kriyananda believes that the development and
enrichment of India can be made without "westernization"
and loss of values, but with dharma and high ideals.
"Following this path of expansion," he
says, "will allow India to fulfill her role
as 'Guru of The World.'"
He
backs this statement with his 26-lesson home-study
course titled Material
Success Through Yoga Principles, which
teaches how to achieve assured and lasting success
by pairing outward endeavors with the high principles
found in the science of yoga. He has also written
80 books, including Awaken
to Superconsiousness, The
Essence of the Bhagavad Gita, Conversations
with Yogananda, Money
Magnetism and The
Art of Supportive Leadership, which have
been translated into 27 languages. He has composed
over 400 pieces of music, several of which have
won international awards
Swami
Kriyananda has created success against seemingly
impossible odds, using only the principles found
in Yogananda's teachings. Over 30 years ago, with
no wealthy supporters and less than a handful of
students who understood his vision, Kriyananda started
what are now thriving Ananda communities. Ananda
includes seven spiritual communities with over a
thousand residents in the United States and Europe,
with many thousands of members world-wide. He has
also written 80 books, including Money Magnetism
and The Art of Supportive Leadership, which have
been translated into 27 languages, and composed
over 400 pieces of music, several of which have
won international awards.
Swami
Kriyananda'a course demonstrates that spirituality
and material success are not separate and unrelated
aspects of life, but rather are mutually dependent.
He describes practical ways of achieving material
success by developing the spiritual magnetism needed
to produce both inward and outward abundance.
Swami
Kriyananda has returned to India after 40 years
to fulfill a dream of bringing his Guru's work back
to India. Ananda Sangha, Kriyananda's organization,
offers weekly classes on the practice of meditation
and other subjects in Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon.
Ananda Sangha is working to bring a new, practical
expression of Sanatan Dharma to everyday modern
life in India.
